Congratulations, Cal-Pipil from Harmony Hopes in Ottawa.
I am very pleased to see what you have done in such a short period of time. I must extend my good wishes on to a number of people. First, I congratulate your Pastor, Miguel Tomas Castro and your parish for the vision for the need and then to endorse the creation of your Youth Centre. I congratulate my very dear friend Victor Fuentes. I need to comment on this because he is deep down a very modest person. It was a passion for Victor to come to El Salvador and help put his footprint in the creation of your centre. He had to put is life on hold for three months; his family, job, lay ministry studies and friends, and I know he would do it again. He would do it again because he wants the youth in your community to have the opportunity to have what he always wanted when he was young. He wants you to use your creative energies in a positive and constructive way. What better way than to develop your talents with your friends. You now have a meeting place to do this. Use it in good faith. Use it for the true purpose it was intended.
You will find out as you get older, there is always a pay back time. I call this the circle of life. And, when you get older, it will be up to you to bring the younger kids into the centre. As I said, the circle starts over. The circle is a perfect shape. The circle has no beginning and it has no end. Keep your centre a perfect circle for the gathering of friends to live in Harmony and to build Hope for a good and enriched life in your community.
In this big world, we are all brothers and sisters and it is up to each one of us to live in Peace with each other.
Best wishes
Penny Globe
